Drew Puzia
(Composer/Librettist) - Drew Puzia is drawn to powerful themes.
The Ghost of Miles Quint is an
original play and is a story of a good and honest man’s fight to protect
his family from the greed and excess of those who would destroy them.
Anthem, the struggle of
individualism over collectivism (or group thought), is very inspiring to
him. According to Mr. Puzia, “We live in a media driven society. Materialism and
excess have become the rule and we are constantly being influenced on what
to watch on television, whom to vote for, what to believe, what to buy,
what to wear, etc. Never has there been a more poignant time to
encourage people to stand up for what they believe in and most importantly,
to believe in one’s own self. It would be a shame to lose the
freedoms we all hold so dear.”
Drew Puzia is a member of the esteemed
Dramatists Guild,
and has played, written and performed music nearly his entire life.
Other songs include, A Change of Fate and most notably 9-11,
which he wrote after the terrible tragedy at the World Trade Centers, and
for which he has received critical acclaim. Drew was also a selected
from thousands of song writers and composers as a
Finalist in
ABC Radio’s International Effigy Awards for
Best Overall Artist, Best Instrumental, Best Solo, Best Artist in Style
– Multi-Style, Best Instrumental, Most Popular Solo, and Best Male
Vocalist. He is inspired by music
from nearly every genre including, various forms of rock, opera,
classical, folk, blues and jazz. It is as a result of these varied
musical influences that his plays are strong, rock driven plays with new
ideas and an entirely new musical feel.
